samples for everyone

The Sampler has a pretty new site, go check it out. I am contributing stationery and cards to the November sampler, so sign up!

tired

I’ve been trying to complete at least one item a day (eg, a book, set of stationery, etc) so that I will be in good shape for the holiday shows. I’m not sure when crafting became work, though it still beats sitting at this desk from 9-5.

I picked up a new scanner over the weekend. I haven’t had much time to try it out, but the slide scanner part looks fun and easy. Hopefully it will make putting up a ‘photo’ section on this page easier.  Yes, I still take most of my pics on old-fashioned film, most of the time using a camera that’s slightly older than I am.

Booked until 2005

It seems my little fingers will be busy until the holidays whipping up books and trinkets for several different craft sales. I’ll be taking part in Craftland, a 5-week retail setup of handmade goods, as well as a few craft shows in Providence and Boston.

I have a few new designs for the holiday season including a mini photo album for Izone pics, or other tiny things.

shoes:1, Paris: 0

I went with a new pair of boots from John Fluevog instead of a trip. I guess I’ll go to the grocery store and buy some cheese and bread and make myself a sandwich.

Part of the reason I want to keep returning to Paris is to take more and more photos. It seems that most of the pics from there never turn out that good. Then I realized it’s always grey. I wonder if there is a book that offers tips for getting the best pictures of Paris. Off to Amazon I go.

daydreaming

It’s fall, so of course I’m thinking of just packing up and taking an adventure--like I always do this time of year. And then there’s all the shoes I want to buy.

I suppose shoes last longer than vacations, but airfares to Paris are $250 round trip. I know, how many times does a girl need to go? Many! I want a fresh baguette sandwich with Camembert cheese and mayo from a street vendor.

needs improvement

Mishapville gave me my first knitting lesson last night at craft group. I think it’s gonna take a while before I get the hang of it. I’m going to run out today and get new yarn. I grabbed some fuzzy orange yarn, but as I’m now aware, it’s not that easy to learn on. I think i’ll pick out some solid gray. That will make it easy for me to actually see the stitches on my sassy pink needles that I picked up for $1 at a local vintage store.

mmmmm

Ben and Jerry’s has brought back chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream--for a limited time. Back in the day that was my choice of snack on 90210 night. Uh huh--it’s what turned the freshman 15 into about the freshman 25 and I topped the scale at more that 145. Thankfully in the ten years since college I’ve managed to return to a pre chocolate pnut butter cookie dough weight.

Now when I eat ice cream it’s out of an espresso cup and not the container. Oh yeah, the fact that I now go the gym helps too.

30 for 30

So Lance went all out for my birthday. I got 30 presents for my 30th year. Yeah, it rocked opening them all up! I’ve got yet another camera to add to the collection as well as a pair of nancy drew pj’s and a host of lots of other fun stuff. He even dared to venture into the craft store for some stuff. He’s a brave man.

sleepy

The craft fair yesterday was excellent. I sold several books and even a few of my Polaroid transfers. I’ve been meaning to add a seperate page of photos, but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Alas, now I’m exhuasted. I spent all of Saturday finishing up books and playing with the Polaroids so I didn’t have to chance to break out the Gocco machine. Next weekend.

I read about Carol’s soot stamping adventure the other day and wanted to find out more about the process. Hmmm, I am both intrigued and scared. The results look so nice, yet I’m not good friends with fire.

long weekend

and not exactly in the relaxing sense. I’ve got a full plate for the next few days. The gocco printing system is here, and I think i’ll take it for a test run on Saturday.  Then Sunday is a craft fair in Worcester, MA.

I’ll let ya all know how the printing system works, and if i have any luck, i’ll post instructions and pics.
