Michael Cloud is the Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate. He is John Kerry's only challenger.

In the last 11 years, Michael Cloud has raised over $8,000,000 for Libertarian efforts. He was the CEO and Rainmaker for Carla Howell's Libertarian U.S. Senate campaign against Ted Kennedy in 2000. Mr. Cloud raised $821,362 for the campaign. Campaigns & Elections magazine named this campaign the most successful Third Party campaign in America in 2000.

In 2001, he and Carla Howell co-founded The Committee for Small Government. This organization is the sponsor of Question 1 on the November 5th Ballot. If the people vote "yes" on this ballot initiative, it will create 300,000 to 500,000 new jobs in Massachusetts. It's designed to give back $3,000 each on average to 3,000,000 workers in Massachusetts. Every year. It will do this by ending the state income tax.

Mr. Cloud has been a professional speechwriter for 22 years. His work has been widely quoted in publications as diverse as Playboy, The Wall Street Journal, Vital Speeches, Reader's Digest, Harper's, and The Washington Post. His clients are independent business leaders, physicians, casino executives, and a half dozen celebrities.

He has 2 books due for publication in 2003.

For more than a decade, Mr. Cloud has worked to advance adult literacy through community-based programs.

Michael Cloud is the son of a U2 spy pilot. "My father taught me to be independent and self-reliant," said Michael Cloud. "My mother was a full-time homemaker who, by her own example, taught me a love of learning and a passion for reading."

Michael Cloud attended the United States Air Force Academy. "I have no college degree," said Mr. Cloud. "I am an autodidact. A self-directed learner. Like Bucky Fuller, Eric Hoffer, Ray Bradbury, and Jessica Mitford."

Michael Cloud is Co-Founder of the Small Government Act to End the Income Tax in Massachusetts.
